Self-evaluation of Urban Net edit

Firstly, the strengths of my edit were things like the usage of the black screen background. It took no time at all as I didn’t have to go through a great deal looking for a black background, the reason as to why this worked well is simply because of the different colours of plastacine the we used, so instead of having a background that would end of clashing with the colours of the plastacine, we just ended up using black which I personally think is a good decision.
A strong point of the ident was the use of the background music as it fit the pace of the editing. For example there were transitions in which the music purposely went in time with the transition. The music helps the transition seem a lot smoother and professional. The expert in which I spoke to agrees with this concept. I also used a lot of colour effect over the whole edit but a different colour almost like every second. This also worked well with the background music. Also, as an extra point the piece of music in which was used was actually created just for the sole use of the ident.

A big thing in which I personally feel could be improved upon could be the animation, simply because although it is not obvious, the purpose of creating an ident is to give the channel an identity and create a story and what I think needs to be improved upon was how well the ident was shot in regards to the movement of the figures could have been closer together.
The most visually appealing thing in the ident would how well we played around with the plastacine for example the concept of the snake coming in at the end and then one of the letters hitting the letter next to it and then spinning was thought of on the spot simply as a result having excess plastacine .

In conclusion, the original intentions and purpose I wanted from the ident were met and even other things were able to be added such as the snake and other things mentioned earlier. I also feel as though that this ident serves its purpose and also appeals to its target audience.
